The transformation of Greenbridge Roundabout is entering its final phases with the initial surfacing of the junction due to start during October half-term.
The work has been co-ordinated with the Council’s Streetworks team so that the Swindon Road approach is kept clear for the initial stages in order to minimise the disruption to motorists bypassing Kingsdown Crossroads.
The first phase of the surfacing will take place between 8.30am and 6pm fromMonday, 24 October to Wednesday, 2 November.
Although the volume of traffic during the school holidays will be lighter, drivers are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys or make use of alternative routes to avoid potential delays.
The second phase of the surfacing will take place from Monday, 21 November to Friday 9 December.
The contractor has this week been continuing to build the traffic island on Dorcan Way as well as construct the footpath and road base on Drakes Way. Drivers will have noticed that work to landscape the junction has taken place.
