Swindon-based contract packager Wasdell has made the Sunday Times’ Profit Track 100 – the definitive list of Britain’s best private companies with the fastest-growing profits.

Wasdell is the only Swindon-based company to make the list, and one of only two from Wiltshire.

Taking the spot at number 94 – one ahead of fellow Wiltshire-based business Longleat Enterprises, and above big online names like Beautybay.com and Victorian Plumbing – Wasdell’s 55.5% annual profit growth catapulted the business as a new entry into this year’s chart.

Attributing their success to a series of recent acquisitions and investment in a new premises in Ireland, The Sunday Times’ Profit Track 100 also applauds Wasdell’s international reach, currently shipping to 47 countries with over three quarters of sales to overseas customers.

Chief Executive Martin Tedham, said: “It’s great to have been acknowledged as one of Britain’s fastest growing businesses according to profit.  Wasdell has ambitious plans to continue this growth and thanks to investment in sites and machinery we aim to stay at the forefront of the pharmaceutical packaging market.

“The next few years look particularly exciting for us and I have a great team behind me to push forward in new markets and to make the most of the new and emerging technology available to us, as well as adapting and meeting customers’ needs according to new regulations that will apply globally.”

Wasdell currently employ 803 staff, with 612 of these based in Swindon.
