Excalibur Communications, a leading South West based telecoms and IT solutions service provider, has purchased Swindon’s Sensata Ltd.  Sensata is a well known and respected local IT support business that designs, installs and supports IT networks for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).  The acquisition supports Excalibur’s strategy for growth in expanding its IT and connectivity business in Swindon and beyond.  It is the company’s third IT acquisition in 18 months.

Sensata founders, Christopher and Janet Griffin, will remain involved with Excalibur and all staff will join the Excalibur team at Arclite House.  Sensata customers will continue to be served by their existing team and will benefit from the extensive resources available through Excalibur.

Excalibur CEO, Peter Boucher, speaking about the addition of Sensata to the company, says;  “We welcome Sensata into the business.  It’s a proven company that shares our passion for delivering a great service to clients and going the extra mile to create IT solutions specifically for SMEs.   It’s a natural fit for both of us and, as we grow, we also benefit from the addition of great staff into the Excalibur talent pool.

“We have just had a record quarter of growth in our IT business.  This acquisition, in particular, accelerates the growth and opportunities for us in our home town, Swindon.”

Chris Griffin, Sensata Founder and Technical Director, adds;  “After a successful and enjoyable 14 years in running Sensata, Janet and I are delighted for the company to be joining Excalibur.   It was important for us to secure an agreement that would provide security for our dedicated staff and continuity of service for our loyal customers.  We have found this in Excalibur, which is a highly respected local company, and one that has the expertise to support the great SMEs that we work with in Swindon.  Janet and I will continue to be involved with the business and are looking forward to supporting Excalibur’s development as it goes forward.”
