A programme of seasonal activities will take place at Avebury, Lacock, Mompesson House and Stourhead, with events aimed at children of different ages.
From broomstick races to woodland adventures, the activities offer families the chance to explore historic properties and countryside as Halloween approaches.
All activities are included with normal admission charges, although some require advance booking.
At Avebury, near Swindon, children can take part in an Autumn Animals Half-term Trail, discovering facts about local wildlife while searching for creatures along the route.
Young visitors will also have the opportunity to make their own wildlife masks to take home.
The trail runs from Thursday 22nd October until Sunday 1st November, between 10am and 5pm. No advance booking is required.
Meanwhile, Lacock will host a series of Halloween-themed activities, including spooky skittles, witch hat ring toss and a woodland bat walk.
Families can explore the woodland in search of wildlife, while younger visitors can enjoy a quieter experience in the Book Nook at the Bothy.
Activities will run from Thursday 22nd October until Sunday 1st November, between 10am and 3.45pm, with no booking necessary.
In Salisbury, Mompesson House will offer an interactive folklore adventure called Stranger Folk.
The experience takes visitors into a mysterious world inspired by traditional tales, where they must help a character known as the crone before time runs out.
Participants will use a downloadable app to complete the adventure, which runs from Friday 16 October until Sunday 1 November.
The experience will be available between 11am and 4pm, with last entry at 3.30pm. Advance booking is not required.
Stourhead, near Mere, will also host a range of seasonal activities, including broomstick races, Halloween games and creative workshops.
Families can visit the Stableyard to take part in autumn-themed challenges, with activities suitable for a range of ages.
The games will run from Saturday 17th October until Sunday 1st November, between 9.30am and 3pm.
Visitors can also explore the gardens on the Marvellous Moths Trail, discovering different species, solving clues and creating a wildlife fact file.
The trail will operate on the same dates and times as the autumn games.
Volunteer-led craft sessions will also take place in the Stableyard from Thursday 22nd October until Sunday 1st November, between 11am and 2pm.
All three Stourhead activities are included with normal admission, but advance booking is required.
The National Trust says visits to its properties help support the conservation of historic buildings, gardens and countryside.
Families are encouraged to check opening times and booking requirements before travelling, as arrangements may vary between properties.
