With just under two weeks to go until the event, the Men’s Walk to Support is set to bring the community together for a shared eight-mile route through the town.
The initiative is built around a simple message – that talking can feel easier when it happens side by side rather than face to face.
Ahead of the walk, a group of local men met in the changing rooms at Swindon Town F.C.’s Nigel Eady County Ground to speak openly about their experiences of loss and the support they have received.
Those involved said walking together can help remove barriers and make difficult conversations feel more natural.

James Wallace, who was supported by Prospect Hospice during his wife Becca’s illness, said: “The more one shares, the more it gives others permission to do the same.”
The walk is open to men and boys aged eight and over, whether they attend alone or with friends, family or colleagues.
Participants will set off from the hospice in Wroughton at 9am on Saturday 18th April and finish at the County Ground after covering eight miles across Swindon.
The £28 entry fee includes a ticket to Swindon Town’s home fixture against Accrington Stanley F.C., as well as an event T-shirt and food and drink at the finish.

Money raised will support Prospect Hospice’s work providing care for people with life-limiting illnesses in Swindon and north east Wiltshire.
The charity offers round-the-clock support both in patients’ homes and at its base in Wroughton, delivering clinical, emotional and practical care tailored to individuals and their families.
Most of the hospice’s funding comes from donations, and organisers say there is still time to register.
