The gathering brought together former Gurkhas and their wives, offering an opportunity to share culture, conversation and companionship in a relaxed setting.
Music and traditional songs were performed during the afternoon, alongside the sharing of home-cooked food prepared by members of the community.
The event aimed to ensure older people remained connected and included, while celebrating customs that continue to play an important role in community life.

Among those attending were Christine Tipper, who has previously taught English to children in Nepal, and Shirley Ludford, who is well known locally for her ongoing work supporting Swindon’s Nepalese residents.
Regular community meetings are held at Buckhurst Crescent, providing a familiar and welcoming space for people to meet, socialise and maintain cultural links.
Organisers said the afternoon reflected the strong bonds within Swindon’s Nepalese community and the value of bringing generations together to mark important moments in the calendar.
