The programme forms part of the wider Festival of Tomorrow and runs from Friday 14 February to Saturday 21 February. All activities are free and no booking is required.

The week-long schedule is designed to spark curiosity through science, creativity and play. Events include interactive trails, pop-up exhibitions and drop-in workshops aimed at children and adults.

One of the main attractions is the Super Senses self-guided trail, available throughout the week. Families can collect free trail sheets from Guest Services near the North Entrance and explore the outlet while learning about animal abilities such as hearing and vision.

Also running all week is Unfit For Vision, a pop-up exhibition exploring how scientists see beyond normal human sight. Using infrared and ultraviolet-style imaging, it highlights hidden details linked to heat, light and movement.

From Friday 14 February to Wednesday 19 February, visitors can also experience Pulse. The interactive installation responds to movement and touch, turning simple gestures into sound and encouraging collaborative play.

Younger children are particularly catered for from Saturday 14 February to Monday 16 February. During these dates, families can join The Sound Garden and Musical Spaceship make-and-play workshop, featuring recycled instruments and a space-themed storyline.

The workshop ends with a sound-filled adventure led by Captain Bongo and the Orchestra of Objects. Families are encouraged to create music together as part of the session.

Engineering takes centre stage later in the week on Tuesday 18 February and Wednesday 19 February. The Incredible Ocean Engineering Lab offers drop-in sessions led by Incredible Oceans CIC.

Families can build and test boats, launch balloon-powered hovercrafts and experiment with forces. Older children and teenagers can also try more advanced challenges, including testing wind turbines and generating electricity.

Alongside the activities, visitors can spend time shopping and eating at the outlet’s range of stores, cafés and restaurants. These include Marks and Spencer, NEXT, Nike, Crocs and Haribo.

Charlotte King, Marketing Manager at Designer Outlet Swindon, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome families to Designer Outlet Swindon this February half term with a fantastic programme of free Festival of Tomorrow activities.

“We know parents are always looking for engaging ways to keep children entertained during the holidays, and this year’s line up offers plenty of opportunities for families to discover, create and enjoy time together.”

Activities run daily from 10am to 4pm throughout the week. Further information is available at www.festivaloftomorrow.com
