The chapel will temporarily close from Saturday 22nd August while renovation work is carried out and new technology is installed.
Services are expected to resume on Tuesday 8 September, when families will be able to make use of immersive images, lighting and sound.
Operator Westerleigh Group describes the upgraded facility as a funeral “SuperVenue”.
Mourners arriving for a service will be greeted by their loved one’s name and a chosen photograph displayed on an external welcome screen.
Inside the chapel, families will be able to choose a visual theme which is projected across the entire front wall.
The displays can be accompanied by coordinated lighting and soundscapes to create a personalised setting for the funeral.
Themes can reflect the interests, personality or life of the person being remembered, including landscapes, seasonal scenes and sporting settings such as a football stadium.
Loraine Beckinsale, manager of North Wiltshire Crematorium & Memorial Gardens, said: “We are proud to be introducing the opportunity to personalise funerals to unprecedented levels to our bereaved communities.
“The feedback received from our SuperVenues already operating in other parts of the country has been extremely positive, and I look forward to supporting the bereaved near and further afield to have the chance to create the most memorable tributes to their loved ones, here at North Wiltshire.
“Whether it’s a landscape theme, a seasonal background, or even a football stadium, there is a wide range of themes and choices available, with many options to tailor the displays to be specifically relevant to the person being honoured.”
North Wiltshire Crematorium and its memorial gardens are operated by Westerleigh Group, which runs 42 crematoria and cemetery sites across England, Scotland and Wales.
The North Wiltshire site will become one of a growing number of the group’s crematoria to introduce its SuperVenue concept.
The chapel will be unavailable between Saturday 22nd August and Monday 7th September while the work takes place.
The crematorium’s memorial grounds and office will remain open as usual during the closure.
