The themed ladies’ tea party took place at Lydiard Park Hotel and Conference Centre, with guests embracing the style and spirit of the popular Netflix series Bridgerton.

Attendees arrived in elegant attire for an afternoon of tea, live music and fundraising, set against the historic backdrop of Lydiard Park. From the outset, organisers focused on creating an immersive experience that reflected the romance and refinement associated with the Regency period.

Funds raised from the event will go directly to two mayoral charities, The Harbour Project and Wiltshire Treehouse.

The event was organised by Vanessa Bentley in collaboration with Cacilda Prado Events, who transformed the venue with carefully dressed tables and decorative details in keeping with the theme. Floral arrangements, fine tableware and soft colour palettes added to the atmosphere inside the conference centre.

Guests were invited to make the most of dedicated photo areas, allowing them to capture the occasion in period-inspired surroundings. A traditional afternoon tea was served, with cakes, sandwiches and refreshments enjoyed as guests socialised in the ornate setting.

The relaxed format encouraged conversation and connection, with many attendees taking the opportunity to network and catch up with friends. Entertainment formed a central part of the programme and ran throughout the afternoon. Saxophonist Amelia Smith performed a live set, providing a soundtrack that complemented the elegant setting.

Ballet dancer Ana Rossi delivered a performance for guests, drawing attention from across the room. Operatic vocals from Juliana Vitoria completed the line-up, rounding off the afternoon’s performances. All three performers volunteered their time in support of the fundraiser, helping to maximise the amount raised for charity.

A raffle was also held, with prizes donated by several attendees, many of whom are local business owners. Organisers said the generosity of the local business community played an important role in the event’s success. Money raised will be donated to the mayor’s chosen charities, The Harbour Project and Wiltshire Treehouse.

Both charities provide support to vulnerable people in the local area, and funds from the afternoon will go directly towards their ongoing work. Those behind the event said it was designed not only to provide a memorable social experience but also to strengthen community ties while supporting worthwhile causes.

The success of the inaugural tea party suggests there is strong interest locally for themed events that combine entertainment with charitable fundraising.
