Caffini has been trading for just a few days, but early signs suggest a positive start with a steady flow of customers and strong local support.

The café is owned by Vini Soares, who says opening his own business has been a long-held ambition.

“I always had a dream to have my own business. I love to make food, and I’m very passionate about coffee, so that’s why I decided to open Caffini.”

The café’s coffee offering draws on international influences, with beans sourced from Brazil and Italy.

Its food menu reflects Brazilian, Italian and Portuguese traditions, while remaining accessible to a wide local audience.

Vini’s background is firmly rooted in professional kitchens.

Before opening Caffini, he worked as a head chef in a Brazilian restaurant and previously as a chef in Bath.

He says his passion for food began in Brazil and continued to grow after moving to the UK.

Everything served at the café is made fresh on site, including dough prepared in-house.

Alongside coffee, the menu includes pizzas and toasted options, which Vini describes as some of the café’s strongest offerings.

Although newly opened, the business has already seen encouraging support, particularly from Swindon’s Brazilian community.

Many customers have found the café through social media, online searches and word of mouth.

Caffini is currently open seven days a week.

It operates during the day from Monday to Thursday and stays open later into the evening at weekends.

Vini has also spoken positively about the surrounding area, saying neighbouring businesses have been welcoming and supportive since opening.

For Swindon town centre, the arrival of another independent café may seem small, but it reflects continued confidence and investment in the heart of the town.

Caffini is now open on Havelock Street in Swindon.
