Last night, 8th February around 8.30pm an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team from the Army detonated a number of wartime incendiary devices, which were found in Trowbridge.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a building site in Wingfield Road at 3.59pm yesterday afternoon (8 February) after builders unearthed the glass bottles.
The Army team, which was called in from Tidworth, carried out a controlled explosion before 8.30pm, and as you can see from the above video, an almighty bang and a large amount of smoke was generated.
People living in the immediate area were warned to stay inside with doors and windows shut, and Wingfield Road remains closed to traffic.
The Fire and Rescue Service worked alongside colleagues from Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire Police to maintain the safety cordon – two crews from Trowbridge fire station initially attended at the scene, together with a support appliance from Warminster, which provided lighting.
The road affected is now back open and running as usual.
