Around 5,000 visitors are anticipated for the Wood Street Party on Sunday from 12pm-5pm. The event is regarded as the centrepiece of the festival and the unofficial start of Swindon’s summer events season.
Wood Street will be transformed into a celebration of local music, independent businesses and community groups. Live performances, street food, family activities and market stalls will run throughout the afternoon.

The entertainment line-up includes a Swindon-based live singer performing a celebration of the music of Taylor Swift. UB40 Madness will bring reggae and ska, while mother-and-son duo Pulse will perform dancefloor classics.
Horizon Line will also take to the stage with an acoustic rock set featuring songs from Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Pet Shop Boys and Dire Straits.

A wide range of food and drink vendors will be in attendance, including Blue Goose, Momo King, BBQ Street Box, Purity Pizza, Chicken Kartel, Leyvan Spice, Nina Andina, Hop Kettle, Stockers and Mama’s Sweets.
Community organisations and retailers will also be represented, such as Pit Stop Parties, Glamorose, the Swindon Arts Centre, Swindon Pride, Gift & Grace and Leadership Martial Arts.

In total, 17 pitches will line Wood Street, creating a festival atmosphere in the heart of Old Town.
Kris Talikowski, Chair of the Old Town Business Association, said:
“Wood Street Party has become one of Swindon’s favourite summer events because it brings together everything that makes Old Town special. We’ve got fantastic local performers, brilliant food and drink, independent businesses and community groups all coming together for one day.
“We’re expecting around 5,000 people over the afternoon and it’s a fantastic opportunity for residents to support local businesses while enjoying
a great day out. Also such a great example of Swindon’s cultural offering as we aspire to City of Culture 2029”

Alongside the main event, the wider Old Town Festival fringe programme has been running throughout the week. Arts, music and community activities have taken place across local venues.
Visitors on Sunday will also be able to enter a competition to win an Audi TT, courtesy of 360 Comps.
The Wood Street Party is free to attend.
The festival is sponsored by Deacon & Son, The Kings Arms, Domino’s and Los Gatos, and is delivered in partnership with South Swindon Parish Council. Organisers say the backing of businesses and community partners helps make events in Old Town possible throughout the year.
