Held at The Brunel Shopping Centre, the event now attracts growing crowds eager to browse a variety of handcrafted items made by local traders.
Taking place on the second Saturday of each month, the market features stalls offering clothing, crochet, artwork, candles, cosmetics and more. Shoppers are drawn to the unique selection of goods not typically found on the high street.
With just two more dates this year – Saturday 8 November and Saturday 13 December – organisers are inviting more stallholders to sign up, and encouraging residents to shop locally for Christmas presents.
Laura Hepple, Centre Manager at The Brunel, said:
“Our Makers’ Market has become very popular in recent months, and it’s been lovely to hear our regular traders reporting strong sales.
“There is a strong sense of community here.
“Everyone supports one another, and we have some very talented local crafters.
“We’re especially looking forward to their Christmas gift inspirations.”
Stallholders have praised the indoor venue for providing a warm and well-managed environment. Many appreciate the convenience of being located within a busy shopping centre, allowing customers to combine market browsing with regular shopping and food breaks at The Crossing.
Bee Wild, one of the regular stallholders, said:
“It’s always great to make new friends and the people of Swindon have always been very friendly.
“The Brunel are very helpful and accommodating to us small businesses.”
Dellah’s Creations and Curiosities added:
“We’re like a community who really care about what we sell, and we love meeting new people.
“The Brunel management team look after us and we feel we are welcomed and supported.”
