His mother went to wake her twin boys the following morning, expecting another ordinary day during the school summer holidays, but discovered Kylan had died.
Wiltshire Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the toddler’s death. The exact cause is being investigated by the coroner.
Kylan’s three young brothers were present at the time of the tragedy, including his twin brother, who has Down’s syndrome, and his older brothers, aged five and 10.
Friends have since launched a fundraiser to help his family with funeral costs, practical support and emotional help for his brothers as they come to terms with their sudden loss.
The appeal describes Kylan as a “funny, mischievous, curious toddler” who loved exploring the world around him.
It says:
“He was surrounded by love, and although his time here was heartbreakingly short, he has left a lasting imprint on every heart that knew him.”
The fundraiser was launched by Alison and friends with the knowledge and permission of Kylan’s family.
It said:
“This fundraiser has been created to support Kylan’s family with funeral costs, emotional support for his young brothers, and practical help for his mother as they navigate life after such a devastating loss.”
The Swindon community has responded with hundreds of pounds in donations, with the total climbing to more than £7,600 by Sunday 21 September.
A total of 159 donations had been made towards the £9,000 target, with organisers saying all money raised will go directly to Kylan’s family.
The fundraiser adds:
“Please give what you can. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly to this family (and no third party) to help this family through the darkest chapter of their lives.”
