Thousands of runners set off from Coate Water Country Park at 9am before heading through the countryside surrounding Swindon.
Among those taking part was comedian Ivo Graham, who tackled the course dressed as a pig.
Rod Hebden also attracted attention as he completed the race dressed as superhero Bananaman.
Swindon24’s sports reporter Ian Howard was among those pulling on their running shoes and taking on the challenge.
But the route was far from easy, with the hills around Wanborough providing a particularly tough test before runners made their way back towards Coate Water.
A strong atmosphere greeted those taking part, with spectators supporting runners around the route and at the start and finish.
Prospect Hospice, which provides care for people affected by life-limiting illness across Swindon, Marlborough and the surrounding area, was supported by the event.
The race was organised by RunThrough and marked the second staging of the revived Swindon Half Marathon.
It returned in September 2025 following a six-year absence, having last been held in 2019.
The new-look course starts and finishes at Coate Water and takes competitors through areas including Wanborough, Badbury and Medbourne.
Today’s event continued the revival of one of Swindon’s biggest sporting occasions, with thousands of runners and spectators creating a lively atmosphere throughout the morning.
