Less than half an hour’s drive from Swindon, the award-winning venue will begin hosting Barn Visiting Productions, shows from other companies that align with its reputation for high-quality, accessible storytelling.

The independent theatre, which opened in 2018, is also launching Barn Supported Partnerships. These will provide rehearsal space, marketing support and production expertise to theatre-makers whose work fits with the Barn’s creative values.

Creative Producer Anthony Houghton said:

“We’ve had the privilege of working with so many talented artists and companies over the years.

“Opening our doors in this new way allows us to build on those relationships and support even more exciting work.

“We’re keen to hear from companies who share our aim of making entertaining work with popular appeal.

“So, if that sounds like you, we’d love to chat.”

The Barn has built a strong national profile since its launch, with multiple productions transferring to London’s West End and touring the UK.

Notable successes include I’m Sorry, Prime Minister (West End 2026, starring Griff Rhys Jones), A Role To Die For (London 2025), Friends: The Musical Parody (UK Tour 2025/26), and Haywire, a show developed with the BBC (UK Tour 2026).

The venue’s latest move is designed to diversify its programming while maintaining the high production standards that have earned it national acclaim.

Swindon audiences now have even more reason to visit the theatre, with a broader range of professional shows soon to be on offer just across the Wiltshire border.
