DIY projects to do during summer 2022

Summer’s the perfect time to complete a DIY project. You can enjoy the perfect weather and improve your home – either for practical reasons or just for fun! But what are the best projects to complete this summer? Read on to find out.

Home Decorating

Equipment you’ll need

Firstly, though, you’ll need to ensure you have the correct equipment to complete a DIY project. There are the basics that every project will require: a hammer, nails, a screwdriver, a utility knife, a wrench and a handsaw are all essential for most tasks. But you might need to purchase specialist equipment too, depending on the project. For instance, if you need to keep your project stable, you might need to invest in adhesives as they’re incredibly durable. Meanwhile, if you need precision in your projects, a tape measure and a level can be handy too.

Cosplay

One project you can enjoy is making a cosplay outfit. Cosplay is growing increasingly popular in the UK, with 133,000 people attending the London MCM Comic Con event in May 2017. By using your tool kit, you’ll be able to create an accurate outfit for one of your favourite characters.

Redecorating your house

Redecorating your house can be a truly exciting project for the summer. This can be as extensive as you want. Some people might be content to simply give their rooms a fresh lick of paint – light, neutral colours can energise a room. However, you can take this further by replacing cabinets and by altering the décor of your home with fresh furniture and curtains. You can even take this to the next level by fitting a new kitchen if you’re feeling ambitious. Either way, the process of redecorating your home can make it look more pleasing, and boost your mental health!

Smaller projects

You can also carry out much smaller DIY projects to sell online. Arts and crafts are a growing marketplace online, with many interested customers. If you want to join in you could consider a project to make your own candles, dog toys or even wall art to unleash your creativity.

Starting some summer DIY projects can be incredibly rewarding. And if you plan ahead now and purchase the correct tools, you can be all set to either redecorate your house, enjoy cosplay or take on any number of smaller projects.
