The Wildlife Trusts’ annual campaign – 30 Days Wild – which calls on everyone across the UK to ‘do something wild’ every day in June, starts this weekend. This year looks set to be bigger and wilder than ever as 60,000 people, families, schools, businesses and care homes have signed-up to receive a free ideas pack and to take part.
Now in its fifth year, 30 Days Wild has already had a marked impact on the thousands of people taking part – people have reported feeling healthier, more connected to nature and more likely to take action to help wildlife.
TV presenter Ellie Harrison, The Vamps’ James McVey and TV doctor Dr Amir Khan are supporting the challenge this year. Ellie Harrison says: “This June we’re challenging you to a Random Act of Wildness every single day of the month. What will you be delighted by?”
Every Wildlife Trust will be helping people across the UK to take part in the challenge, with 1000 people already signed up in Wiltshire alone. Wiltshire Wildlife Trust will be holding a Wild Weekend at our Lower Moor Nature Reserve near Swindon, on Saturday 15 June from 11am to 4pm; it’s free to attend but booking is essential.
