Santa’s grotto opens at The Brunel Shopping Centre today, with strong demand already reported for pre booked visits.
Families are being encouraged to reserve a slot to avoid queues, as this year marks the first time advance booking has been offered. Prices remain the same as last year.
The grotto is on the ground floor opposite Boots. It will run until Christmas Eve, although it will not operate every day. The Brunel has urged visitors to check opening times before travelling.
Quiet sessions are being introduced for the first time. These will take place during the first thirty minutes of every Sunday opening and are aimed at children who prefer a calmer experience. They must be booked in advance.
Each child will receive a small gift and can talk to Santa about their Christmas wishes. A post box for letters to Santa will also be available near the grotto.
Laura Hepple, Centre Manager at The Brunel, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Santa back to The Brunel for our traditional grotto. We know for some families, every penny helps, which is why we’ve kept the cost to meet Santa the same as last year.
“Being able to prebook for the first time will mean shorter queuing times for families, and we hope families who prefer visiting when it’s less busy will take advantage of the ‘quiet’ sessions on Sundays.”
Up to four children can be booked per visit. The price is £4.50 per child, with a £1 admin fee per booking.
Walk ins will be accepted when space allows, although pre booking is recommended due to demand.
