Let’s Create Art Club will run the sessions in West Swindon from Monday 31 March to Friday 10 April 2026. The camps are open to children aged four to twelve and will include painting, drawing, sculpture and design activities.
The club was founded in 2020 by local artist and mum Rachel Bray. She set it up after noticing many after-school clubs focused heavily on sport, with fewer creative options available.
Rachel Bray said: “Running Art Camp is one of my favourite things to do at Let’s Create. As an artist and mum, I know firsthand how powerful and important creativity can be for a child, their confidence, resilience and wellbeing.”
She said school holidays can bring added pressure for families trying to keep children entertained while balancing work and reducing screen time.
“In the holidays the pressure can mount for families to provide engaging and creative experiences while minimising screen time, all while juggling work,” she said. “That’s where our holiday art camps come in, to provide an outlet of creativity for those who need it.”
The camps have grown in popularity in recent years, attracting families from across Swindon and further afield. Some parents have travelled from Ramsbury so their children can attend.
This year’s Easter programme will feature artist-led workshops, games, outdoor play and dedicated free creative time. Sessions are designed to support both independent projects and teamwork, while giving children the freedom to experiment with different techniques.
Rachel said:
“Our holiday Art Camps are a lot of fun and very special because they allow children the time and freedom that creativity really needs. Watching their confidence grow across the day or week is amazing.
“My goal has always been to create a space where children feel safe to express themselves, make friends and leave feeling proud of themselves as much as what they’ve made.”
The club runs regular after-school classes, Saturday sessions and holiday camps throughout the year. It is a member of the Institute of Children’s Activity Providers, which sets standards for safety, inclusion and engagement.
In 2025, the organisation was named a finalist at the ICAP Awards in the Rising Star, Outstanding Achievement in Growth and Visions for the Future category.
Rachel said:
“Art Camp gives children the time, space and support to express themselves and explore ideas without any pressure on the outcome and make new friends,” she said. “I feel privileged to be able to help children experience how to have fun with art and create great childhood memories.”
