Neros Technologies confirmed it will launch its UK subsidiary, Neros Technologies UK Ltd, establishing a new headquarters in North East Swindon. The move represents the company’s first physical presence in the UK.

The firm said the expansion forms part of its strategy to manufacture autonomous First Person View unmanned aerial vehicles domestically for the UK Armed Forces and European allies.

It said the investment will support sovereign British capability, workforce development and national security, as it looks to grow its position within allied defence supply chains.

The announcement follows the creation of Neros UA in Ukraine and builds on the company’s existing work in the UK. This includes contributions to FPV trials and the supply of drones to the Ministry of Defence through the International Drone Capability Coalition.

Neros’ flagship system, Archer, is described by the company as having become the NATO standard for strike UAVs in its class. It uses a China free supply chain for all critical components.

Archer was also the first strike FPV platform to be added to the US Department of Defense’s Blue UAS List, a certification process assessing hardware and software for security vulnerabilities and foreign sourced risks.

Hugo Crawford, Europe Growth Lead at Neros, said:

“As a leading manufacturer driving the shift to sovereign supply chains for Allied forces, the UK has always been a critical hub for Neros.

It has been a pleasure working with Will Stone MP as we establish Neros Technologies UK to support our Armed Forces with secure and sovereign drone manufacturing capability.”

Will Stone, Member of Parliament for Swindon North, said: “It is outstanding to have Neros Technologies UK join the growing number of UAV manufacturing companies in Swindon. I am proud to be supporting them as they expand into the UK with their leading capabilities that I believe are crucial for supporting the next generation of warfare and supporting jobs here in Swindon.

“With five companies confirmed and more in the pipeline, it is undeniable that Swindon is now a major player in drone manufacturing.”

Councillor Jim Robbins, Leader of Swindon Borough Council, said:

“I am delighted to see another company set up in Swindon. The council is proud to be supporting Will Stone MP in establishing the town as a key player in the sector.

I look forward seeing the growth from Neros Technologies UK and the high skilled employment they will bring to Swindon.”

The latest investment adds to a number of recent announcements positioning Swindon as an emerging centre for defence and drone manufacturing, particularly around the former Honda site.

Further details, including job numbers, the exact location of the facility and production timelines, have not yet been confirmed.
