The Swindon Imaginarium returns from today (Monday 26 October), offering children a range of interactive activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity.
Organised by New Elements, the team behind Swindon’s Festival of Tomorrow, the event will feature disappearing ink, air-powered machines, colourful potions and flying ghosts.
The Wyvern Theatre will also be getting involved, with craft activities inspired by this year’s pantomime, *Jack and the Beanstalk*.
Children can make cow masks, build beanstalks and design their own giant’s castle.
Young scientists will have the chance to explore how oil and water interact, experiment with infrared art and discover how firefighters use thermal imaging.
There will also be badge-making activities and free face painting from Dani’s Doodles, with donations encouraged for Swindon Food Collective.
A spokesperson for The Brunel said:
“We are thrilled to welcome New Elements back following the fantastic popularity of their previous activities with us.
“From theatrical crafts to crazy science, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy right here in the centre.”
Louise Halliday, from New Elements, said:
“We believe curiosity and creativity aren’t just for classrooms and laboratories – they’re for everyday life.
“Partnering with The Brunel gives us a fantastic space to bring hands-on, fun activities right into the heart of the community so everyone can drop in, try something new, and discover something amazing.”
Families looking for something to do this half-term can visit the Swindon Imaginarium downstairs at The Brunel Shopping Centre between 10am and 4pm daily until Saturday 31 October.
Visitors can drop in during the event to take part in the activities and enjoy some Halloween-themed fun in the town centre.
