With the Easter holidays just around the corner, Lydiard Park have a number of Easter themed events for all the family to enjoy.

The Great Lydiard Park Easter Trail takes place on Easter Sunday (1 April), where children will be able to hunt for clues hidden around the lakes, woodlands and lawns of the historic park to solve the puzzle and be rewarded with an Easter surprise.

Visit the Coach House Activity Centre between 10am and 3pm to collect a trail sheet. The cost for the trail is £5 per child, and booking in advance is not required but children must be accompanied by an adult.

The elegant State Rooms of Lydiard House will re-open on Saturday 24 March. Visitors can discover a wealth of history as they wander through the ancestral home of the Viscounts Bolingbroke.

Lydiard Park will also be running the popular ‘Kids for a Quid’ promotion between Saturday 24 March and Sunday 15 April. Children aged three to 15 years can visit Lydiard House and Walled Garden for just £1 when accompanied by a full-paying adult. Children aged under three can visit for free.

Lydiard House is open Wednesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, from 11am to 3.30pm.

The Forest Café and Coach House Tea Rooms will also be open for refreshments throughout the Easter holiday period.

Cllr Keith Williams, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member responsible for Lydiard, said: “Lydiard Park and House offers a fantastic day out, particularly with the great activities taking place over the next couple of weeks and the popular ‘Kids for a Quid’ promotion. I’m sure many families are looking forward to spending some of their Easter holiday break at the well-loved park.”

Full details of the Easter events are available at www.lydiardpark.org.uk, and you can also stay up to date with Lydiard Park on Facebook and Twitter @LydiardPark
