Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses to a suspicious incident which took place in Bowleymead area of Swindon.

A man approached two girls,  aged 8 and 9, who were out playing in the square between Bowleymead and Stubsmead and near to the underpass to Dorcan Way around 5pm on Monday 22 May 2017.

He said to them: “Can you help me with something in my car?”  The girls had the sense to say no and started to walk back to one of their home addresses – the male then disappeared.

No car was seen and it is unknown where the male went.  The girls said that the man was hanging around for about 10 minutes before he approached them and didn’t see him with anyone else.

He’s described as being Asian in appearance, in his 40s, of average build and height with short, dark hair which was thick on top and stubble on his face.  He was wearing a black leather jacket and jeans.

PC Cassey Evans said:  “The young girls were very sensible and reported it straight away.
“We are conducting enquiries and need to speak to the man regarding his actions.
“If you recognise this man’s description or have any information about this incident, please call us.”

If you can help with our enquiries please contact police on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
