Head down to Wharf Green and be welcomed by the hilarious comedy Knight – the festival host. The cheeky Knight will entertain you with his traditional children’s games, fun, prizes and will have everyone in stitches.

The little ones will get the opportunity to get their face painted free with an England flag. Local musicians will perform ‘LIVE’ on stage throughout the day. Plus, visitors will also get to meet St. George and get ready to go on an adventure with Blaze the dragon.

Other attractions include free Maypole dancing in the Parade, Fairground rides and amazing free Falconry displays at Havelock Square.

As well as celebrating all things English there will be a St. George’s Parade and the return of the BEST of Swindon Talent Competition.

St. George will also lead a parade through the town centre with the Britannia Mini/Majorettes, from 12.30pm meeting at the Cenotaph (town hall). The public, community groups, scout/cubs/guides and dance groups are all invited to join the Parade.

All the town centre businesses will be open on the day with some great best of British offer to take advantage of.

As part of the celebrations, inSwindon town centre BID wants to recognise the best talent Swindon has got to offer – we are inviting all dancers, singers, actors, illusionists, comedians, bands, contortionists, musicians and even jugglers to submit and showcase their skills at the annual talent competition. Eight finalists will be selected from entries received and will perform on the day from 2 pm at the Wharf Green main stage. The winner of the competition will be chosen on the day by our talent spotting judges and will receive a fantastic prize – the chance to perform at Swindon Town Centre Christmas Experience 2018. You will also receive £250 worth of shopping vouchers to spend in the town centre.

Di Powell, inSwindon BID Chief Executive said: “Once again we are proud to celebrate St. George’s Day in the town centre. The free event is set to be a great day out for the all family and it is a great opportunity to showcase the town centre businesses.
