A five minute two-car pursuit through Swindon ended with one car colliding with a concrete barriers and the other being abandoned.
The incident happened from approximately 1.40am on Saturday 22 July 2017 when Wiltshire Police received reports that an orange VW Golf and silver Ford Mondeo was seen driving erratically around Pinehurst.
Tri-Force officers from came across the vehicles but they failed to stop and an authorised pursuit followed with the Mondeo colliding with barriers on Liden Avenue soon afterwards. The male driver ran off.
The police helicopter was scrambled to search for the male along with the Tri-Force dog unit but he wasn’t found.
The VW Golf was later found abandoned near Liddington Street.
PC Ben Agate said: “I’d like to hear from anyone who has information relating to drivers who may have been using the vehicles at the time.
“These cars were driven dangerously, exceeding the speed limits and going through red traffic lights.
“Both were not insured and I strongly suspected that they were driven by teenagers who do not hold a driving licence.
“Luckily no one was hurt during the pursuit.
“I believe that someone in the local community knows who were driving these vehicles at the time they failed to stop for police.”
