Man charged following discovery of Cannabis factory in Swindon

A man has been charged and remanded to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court this morning, 8 June 2017, following the discovery of a large Cannabis factory in Swindon.

Yesterday morning officers attended an address in Westcott Place and found that the building had been adapted to produce the Class B drug with a full hydroponic system in place.

Whilst the full extent of the factory is not yet assessed we estimate that there are approximately 1000 plants inside.

Jetmir Memia, 28 from Swindon was arrested and charged with being concerned in the production of Cannabis. He will appear at court this morning.

Enquiries are ongoing at the property and a thorough investigation is underway.
