The dessert parlour, based at Wessex Court on Clarence Street, has ceased trading and is now listed as closed. No formal explanation has been given for the closure.
The owners of the Swindon franchise are unable to comment. Kaspa’s first opened in Croydon in 2012 and has since expanded into one of the UK’s largest dessert chains, operating more than 100 franchised locations.
Companies House records show the Swindon branch was linked to KASPAS.SWINDON LIMITED, whose active directors are Shabahat Syed Hussain and Syed Rafi Hyder Zaidi. Both are also listed as persons with significant control of the company. The company is currently in liquidation.
Although the reasons behind the closure have not been confirmed, it comes during a challenging period for hospitality businesses across the country.

Restaurants, cafés and leisure operators have repeatedly raised concerns about rising costs, including increases in business rates, employer National Insurance contributions and the National Living Wage. Industry groups say many customer-facing businesses are facing significant additional annual costs while consumer spending remains under pressure.
The hospitality sector has experienced a growing number of closures in recent years. Industry analysts have pointed to rising labour costs, increased energy bills, inflation and changing consumer habits as factors affecting the viability of some locations.
The Swindon branch had previously encountered financial difficulties. Records show liquidators were appointed to the local operating company in 2025, although the business continued to trade for more than a year afterwards.

For many residents, the dessert parlour became a popular destination for birthday celebrations, family outings and post-cinema treats, particularly among younger customers.
No announcement has been made about the future of the Clarence Street premises.
