Drugs warrants carried out in Eldene

Police Officers, Special Constables, Dog Handler and PCSO’s from the South Swindon Community Policing Team executed two warrants yesterday morning in the Bowleymead area of Eldene.

The warrants related to the supply and distribution of drugs in the local area and associated anti-social behaviour from this.

A number of officers attended the properties, where one resident was arrested.

A quantity of what is believed to be Class A and Class B drugs were found and seized by officers.

A 17-year-old male from the local area has been arrested for possession with intent to supply and is currently being held at Gablecross Police Station.

The warrants form part of a proactive approach that has been formulated over recent weeks in response to the drug activity and associated anti-social behaviour in Eldene.

Further proactive work will be taking place in future as we continue to target those who are involved in such activity.

Swindon South Community Coordinator PCSO Phil Day said: “We are really pleased with the result from today’s warrants.
“We hope this provides local residents with some reassurance that we are actively targeting the area and the associated issues.
“This action can be greatly influenced by the support of local residents, therefore we ask that should anyone have any information relating to ongoing issues around drug supply or anti-social behaviour in the area, please contact the Swindon South Community Policing Team on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.”
