A 40-year-old drug dealer from London has been sentenced to four years in jail at Swindon Crown Court.

Kwaku Lewis, from North London, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine and was sentenced yesterday (Monday 4 June).

On 30 October 2017, officers stopped a silver Lexus on Pinehurst Road, in Swindon, which was being driven by Lewis (who was alone in the car) after he was seen taking part in a suspected deal.

He was seen discarding a bag from the car as officers stopped him; this was found to contain packets of heroin and crack cocaine with a street value of £360.

Also, a mobile phone was found in the car which was identified as being a dedicated phone line used for supplying drugs in Swindon.

Detective Constable George Booth, from the Dedicated Crime Team, said: “This is an example of proactive work by the Dedicated Crime Team, targeting the most dangerous in our communities.
“Drug dealers like Lewis do not care about how the drugs they sell destroy lives, all they care about is earning money by any means possible regardless of the consequences.
“I welcome this result as it sends a clear message to anyone considering dealing drugs here – we will do all we can to find you and you will face prosecution.”

If you suspect drug activity in your area, please call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
