Information received from members of the public led to two men being arrested in Swindon yesterday.
Officers from the Dedicated Crime Team were acting on intelligence received from the public when they attended an address in Curtis Street shortly after 7am yesterday morning (03/05).
It was believed that drug dealing had been taking place in the vicinity of Curtis Street and from the address.
A search was conducted of the premises and a number of mobile phones, drugs paraphernalia and suspected class A drugs were located and seized.
A 17-year-old man from Merton was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and a 23-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and possession of a class B drug.
They were taken to Gablecross custody and have since been released under investigation while enquiries are continued.
PC Gareth Snoad said: “We recognise the really negative impact that drugs can have on law-abiding residents and we are dedicated to tackling it.
“I would encourage the local community to help us by being our additional eyes and ears and passing any information on to us, which will lead to action being taken.”
Anyone with information about drug activity in their neighbourhood should call police on 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
