Collision in Queens Drive, Swindon – appeal for witnesses

Wiltshire Police appealing for witnesses to a collision in Queens Drive, Swindon.

At approximately 8.40pm on 24 August, a Volkswagen Polo was travelling east along Queens Drive. As it passed the ambulance station, a pedal cyclist was coming towards the vehicle and a collision took place.

The cyclist, a 37-year-old Swindon man, received extensive treatment at the scene and then was taken to Southmead Hospital by ambulance. He is believed to have sustained a head injury.

The eastbound carriageway of Queens Drive was closed for approximately four hours while collision investigators carried out extensive enquiries at the scene.

Wiltshire Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who saw either the Volkswagen Polo or the cyclist prior to the collision.
