We have released CCTV images of a man we believe could be a significant witness to a stabbing in Swindon.

The incident happened at Mannington Recreation Ground between approximately 9.35pm and 9.40pm on Sunday 6 August 2017.

The victim, a 19-year-old Swindon man, was taken to Southmead Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is now recovering well at home.

The man pictured entered Sainsbury’s petrol station at Bridgemead, just after 9.30pm.

Detective Constable Alan Mills said: “We have carried out extensive enquiries to try and identify this man who we believe is a witness to the incident, but have so far not been able to ID him.

“We have made significant progress in this case, however, we are really keen to speak to this man who could have some really vital information which could further help us with our enquiries.

“If you know who the man is, or indeed if it is you, please come forward and call police on 101.”

Anyone with information should call Swindon CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
