Man charged with attempted kidnapping and actual bodily harm

Just after midday Saturday 8 July 2017, a nine-year-old girl, who was walking with her young sister in the Park Place area, was approached by a man on foot who grabbed her – luckily she managed to run away and back home with her sister.

Following this incident in Ashton Keynes on Saturday, where a nine-year-old girl was grabbed by a man in the Park Place area of the village, a 24-year-old man has been charged with attempted kidnapping and actual bodily harm.

Alexander Benfield from Lawrence Road, Cirencester remains in custody and will appear before Swindon Magistrates this morning (Tuesday 11 July 2017).
