An 18-year-old man was assaulted in Swindon at the weekend and we are appealing for information from any potential witnesses.
The incident happened just before 1pm on Saturday 30 June.
The victim was walking on the footpath adjacent to Dorcan Way when he was approached by a large group.
The victim was assaulted by members of the group – some of them are believed to have been carrying weapons including screwdrivers and poles.
The victim suffered an injury to his shoulder, a possible fractured jaw and injuries to his face.
DC Mark Harris, of Swindon CID, said: “This was a frightening attack on an individual who sustained nasty injuries as a result. He had to attend the Great Western Hospital for medical treatment.
“Extensive enquiries are currently being carried out by officers, and we are keen to speak to any witnesses who saw the attack, or anyone who saw a large group of people in the area of Dorcan Way on Saturday afternoon. This is a busy area so it is likely there were witnesses.
“As well as this, we are keen to hear from any drivers who were passing the area at the time who may have dash cam footage.”
