Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon is launching its Summer of Stories event, which will run every Saturday and Sunday from Saturday 25th July until Sunday 30th August.
The free attraction has been introduced to support the National Year of Reading 2026, a nationwide campaign promoting reading for pleasure among people of all ages.
Professional performers will host interactive storytelling sessions at 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm each weekend, with a different story featured every week to encourage repeat visits.
A themed event space will also be available throughout the school holidays, giving children the chance to meet Billy the Bookworm, swap books at a community book exchange and relax in a dedicated reading area, even when live performances are not taking place.
The initiative is designed to combine entertainment with learning, helping children discover new books while spending time with family during the summer break.
Charlotte King, Marketing Manager at Designer Outlet Swindon, said:
“We’re excited to bring Summer of Stories to Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon and give families even more reasons to spend quality time together over the school holidays.
“As the National Year of Reading shines a spotlight on the importance of reading for pleasure, we hope this experience inspires children to discover a love of reading while enjoying a fun day out with family and friends. With a different story every weekend, there’s always a reason to come back and enjoy something new.”
Alongside the storytelling programme, visitors can also explore the outlet’s range of designer brands, restaurants and cafés throughout the summer holidays.
Summer of Stories is free to attend, with weekly story themes and further information available through the Designer Outlet Swindon website and social media channels.
