The traditional free house on Wood Street was selected for the annual guide, which highlights pubs across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland for their history, character, quality of beer, food and hospitality.
The latest honour comes just days after The Five Bells was named Swindon and North Wiltshire CAMRA Pub of the Year 2026 for a fourth consecutive year.
In a letter to the pub, The Telegraph congratulated the team on its inclusion in the guide, describing it as a celebration of venues that excel in “history, character, good beer and a welcome”.
The Five Bells, which occupies a thatched building dating back to before 1841, has built a strong reputation for its rotating selection of cask ales and traditional pub atmosphere.
Its commitment to well-kept real ale has also secured the pub a place in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide for 25 consecutive years.
Reacting to the latest recognition, the Cole family thanked the people behind the pub’s continued success.

The latest accolade adds to what is already proving to be a successful year for the Royal Wootton Bassett pub, with recognition from both CAMRA and one of the UK’s leading national newspapers.
