Swindon Carnival will take place at the Polo Grounds in Old Town on Saturday 4th July, following a successful debut last year that attracted more than 4,000 people.

Organised by UK Visionary Events, the festival celebrates the cultures of the Indian subcontinent and Goa, bringing together live entertainment and visitors from across Swindon’s diverse communities.

This year’s line-up includes headline performances from The 7 Notes Band, Mark Revlon & Band and V5. DJs Ryan Nogar, Kim, Xavier and Salvino will also perform, while Goan rapper Eric Goan is due to make a special appearance.

A local highlight of the programme will be a performance by Swindon’s internationally acclaimed Rhythmix Choir. The choir has previously performed for the Pope and featured on BBC broadcasts.

Organisers say the carnival is about more than music, with ambitions to establish it as one of Swindon’s flagship cultural events that welcomes people from all backgrounds in a family-friendly atmosphere.

A spokesperson for UK Visionary Events said: “We would greatly appreciate the support of the community to help us build this annual event and bring communities together.”

Early bird tickets, priced at £10, are almost sold out. Tickets will also be available on the gate from 10am on the day, priced at £15.

Following the success of the inaugural event, organisers are expecting another strong turnout as Swindon Carnival continues to establish itself as one of the town’s biggest celebrations of culture, music and community.
