Swindon Cricket Club has secured a new commercial sponsorship agreement with Tekever in a move described as a significant boost for grassroots sport in the town.

The deal came into effect in March and will see Tekever become a principal sponsor of the club.

The agreement includes new branded match kits, on-site advertising and direct financial support for club development. The partnership is understood to be worth around £15,000 per year.

Funds have already been used to improve facilities and invest in players. This includes new kits for members, upgraded heating in the clubhouse, coaching qualifications and support for pitch maintenance and first aid provision.

A spokesperson for Swindon Cricket Club said the agreement reflects shared values between the two organisations.

“This partnership with Tekever is about far more than branding. It reflects a shared belief in community, opportunity, and long-term investment in Swindon’s people, especially its youth.”

Founded in 1844, the club has a large and growing membership, with players starting from the age of five through to senior level. It is widely recognised for its junior development pathway and community focus across Wiltshire.

Tekever’s involvement follows its expansion in Swindon after taking over the former Honda site at the Spectrum Building.

The 254,000 sq ft facility is expected to create hundreds of jobs. Longer-term plans aim to employ more than 1,000 people as operations increase.

Club representatives said the sponsorship followed a direct approach to the company as part of efforts to strengthen commercial partnerships and secure the club’s long-term future.

Despite the new agreement, existing sponsors including Decans Jewellery, Ridgeway Hospital and Coe Capital will continue to support the club.

The club is now encouraging other local businesses to explore sponsorship opportunities. It says the Tekever partnership marks an important step in its ambition to become the leading county cricket club in Wiltshire while remaining rooted in the community.
