The store is due to welcome customers on Thursday 26th March.
Shoppers can expect a range of hiking, ski and outdoor clothing and equipment. The first 50 customers through the doors on opening day will receive a free Columbia cap.
The launch follows the acquisition of Swindon Designer Outlet by Frasers Group in December 2025.
The retail giant’s takeover forms part of a wider strategy to grow its portfolio of shopping destinations across the UK and strengthen its position as both retailer and landlord.
Swindon Designer Outlet attracts more than three million visitors each year and is regarded as one of the country’s leading outlet centres.
Columbia’s new store will offer men’s and women’s outdoor clothing, footwear and performance wear. Products designed for hiking, travel and winter sports will be available.
Customers will also find the brand’s weatherproof technologies, aimed at keeping people warm, dry and comfortable in challenging conditions.
The opening comes ahead of the spring and summer season, when interest in outdoor clothing typically increases.
Columbia will join existing outdoor retailers at the centre, including Mountain Warehouse, TOG24 and Trespass.
Charlotte King, Marketing Manager at Designer Outlet Swindon, said:
“We’re excited to welcome Columbia to the centre, giving visitors even more choice when it comes to high-quality outdoor clothing and equipment.
“Whether guests are preparing for their next hike, planning a winter trip or simply looking for reliable gear for everyday adventures, the new store offers a fantastic range of products designed to keep people comfortable in all conditions.”
Swindon Designer Outlet is based within the former Great Western Railway Works and first opened in 1997.
The arrival of Columbia is likely to be seen as a positive step for the centre following its change in ownership.
Frasers Group, which owns brands including Sports Direct and Flannels, has continued to expand its property interests nationwide.
Further brand announcements are expected as the outlet begins its next phase under the group’s ownership.
