The event will take place on Monday 16 February, when the restaurant chain transforms the town centre cinema into a themed fan experience.

The takeover is being delivered in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery and cinema advertising partner Digital Cinema Media.

Classic episodes of the New York based comedy will be shown on the big screen. Visitors will also receive a complimentary McDonald’s meal, subject to availability.

Organisers say the cinema will feature an AI powered photobooth that turns guests into a Friends style character design, with the option to print the image onto a T shirt to take home.

The venue will also host themed photo opportunities and interactive experiences throughout the day.

Exclusive Friends inspired merchandise will be available as part of a limited edition Friends Meal. One of six character collectibles will be included, featuring Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing or Ross Geller.

Swindon is one of twelve locations across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland selected for the nationwide tour.

Tickets for the screenings are free but must be booked in advance. Organisers have warned they are likely to be claimed quickly.

Fans can register for tickets at www.mcdonaldsfriendsfestival.com.
