South Swindon has once again struck gold at the RHS South West in Bloom Awards, claiming the prestigious Tesco Cup and securing the top spot in its category.

At the regional ceremony, held in Torbay on Wednesday 8 October, the South Swindon team was awarded Gold for the third consecutive year. Judges also presented the group with the Urban Community Award in recognition of their outstanding work transforming urban areas with nature, colour, and community effort.

The Royal Horticultural Society praised the team for its ability to “galvanise the power and emotion of bringing people together” through its local projects.

Linda Kasmaty said:

“This is about pride, heritage, and community spirit.

“Together, we’re showing what makes South Swindon such a brilliant place to live.”

Volunteers and community groups from across the area were thanked for their continued efforts to improve public spaces. The group is now encouraging more local residents, businesses, and supporters to join its mission to tackle urban challenges including graffiti, fly-tipping, and litter.

Linda added:

“We are absolutely thrilled. This gold medal and category win reflects the heart and determination of so many local people who care deeply about South Swindon.

“Every planted corner, mural, school project, and litter pick adds up to something powerful – a community that’s proud of where it lives and eager to make it even better.”

With momentum building, the team hopes to take South Swindon to the national stage in the future.
