Eating good food and topping it with delicious desserts doesn’t necessarily need to be expensive. Protein bars are one such dessert that you could make to your taste and desired nutrition.

This article will give you an idea of the various protein bars you could make at home with their recipe.

If you’re in the mood for experimentation, below are recipes for protein bars you could make at home at a pocket-friendly rate:

  1.   Coconut and chocolate peanut protein bars

Peanut butter bars can be easily made in the comfort of your home with easy-to-get ingredients. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to prepare this nutritious meal. Below are the ingredients and the method on how to make it.

  • Organic peanut butter (the main ingredient)
  • Honey
  • Coconut oil
  • Dried fruit
  • Oats
  • Chocolate
  • Protein powder
  • Coconut
  • Chia seeds

Procedure

  • Mix the coconut oil, peanut butter, and honey in a clean bowl till they are blended
  • Add the chia seeds, protein powder, dried fruits, and coconut into the bowl, stir, and then pour into a saucepan
  • Melt the mixture by placing it in your cooker using low heat. You could also carry out this step in a microwave oven
  • Place in your refrigerator and allow to cool and become a bar for about an hour. 
  1. Coconut almond protein bars

These bars can be made using ingredients readily available at most grocery stores. It is very healthy and at the same time delicious. Here are the ingredients needed and the methods used in making this tasty appetizer.

Ingredients

  • Unsweetened coconut flakes
  • Protein powder (your desired choice)
  • Cinnamon (optional)
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Hot water
  • Dried fruit of your choice
  • Honey or maple syrup
  • Raw almonds
  • Vanilla extract

Procedure

  • Slice the coconut into a blender, then pour the almonds in too. From there keep blending until you have a fine texture. 
  • Pour the blended mixture into a clean bowl
  • Slice your dried fruits into your blender and blend
  • Pour the blended dried fruit into the bowl of coconut and almond, and mix thoroughly.
  • Mix the other ingredients (honey, vanilla extract, water) in a separate bowl to form a paste. If the mixture is too thick, add more water until you achieve the desired thickness. Add this mixture to the blended coconut and almond.
