Everyone could do with a little sun, sea and sand in 2022, but where are the best places for a beach holiday for families? There are many great places to choose from that can offer more than just sunshine and a nice beach, so keep reading for a few ideas that will hopefully inspire you and help you to find the perfect place for a well deserved holiday this year.

Santorini

Santorini is a beautiful small Greek island that is known for its rugged landscape and small whitewashed towns found atop the cliffs overlooking the Aegean Sea. Santorini is one of the most popular Greek islands and for good reason, thanks to its incredible climate, beaches and the tantalising cuisine found in the charming towns of Fira and Oia. This means that there is much more to Santorini than just the beach, but it is also a great destination for those looking to soak up the sun.

Gran Canaria

The Canary Islands are always a good choice for families looking for a beach vacation without having to leave Europe. It can be hard to choose between the islands, but if beaches are your priority then Gran Canaria will be the best choice thanks to its incredible black lava and white sand beaches. It also features a mountainous interior, so it can be a fun place for hiking and exploring too. Make sure to prebook flights and activities to avoid any hassle on the run-up to the holiday as it can get busy.

Malaga

The capital of the Costa del Sol, Malaga is a hotspot during the summer holidays and it is easy to see why. Here you have a spectacular climate, sandy beaches and many resorts, which also means that this is somewhere that is easy to travel to with kids. There is also much more to Malaga than the sandy beaches, including Malaga Cathedral, the Alcazaba of Malaga and Montes de Malaga Natural Park. As a popular resort area, you will also find that it is never too hard to find somewhere good to eat and somewhere that kids can always find something that they will enjoy.

Barcelona

Barcelona is a cry that is known for many things and is one of the most exciting cities in the world. In addition to the architecture, art, shopping, food and football team, Barcelona is also well-known for its beaches that stretch along the coastline that can be a nice change of busy from the busy city centre.

Hopefully, this post will give you a few ideas for beach destinations that will get you and the family excited for a well-deserved holiday.
