Bloky Line has already generated 600 school meals & 224 emergency food packages!! David and Goliath Games think they can do soooo much more so we need everyone in Wiltshire to download and play!

The startup has engineered a unique business model where 25% of all game-play revenue is used directly by World Vision to help fund projects for the world’s most vulnerable children. The pilot game for this initiative, Bloky Line, is an addictive rhythm-based reaction game, available on the App Store. The game is free to download and play as the funds are generated behind the scenes by the game-play advertising (as well as in-app purchases).

“This model has the potential to open up an entirely new source of funding for the most vulnerable children living in the world’s hardest places” says Graeme Newton, Director of Fundraising at World Vision UK.

The initiative will mean that everyone who tries the free Bloky Line game can play their part in the global fight against poverty simply by having fun. “Mobile gaming has never been so rewarding, people can now have fun while supporting others in need,” says David and Goliath Games co-founder, Peter Newell. The startup was struck by the large amount of money generated by app stores and embarked on creating a game that could have a real-life impact.

The startup’s website features counters that track the potential impact of the money raised. “Our model is unlike other charitable apps that either redirect money already earmarked for charity or rely on recurring micro-donations from users. We wanted to create a way to generate additional funds for charities that didn’t rely on players having to give anything,” explains David and Goliath Games co-founder David Richards ofMalmesbury, Wiltshire.

“We’re excited to be partnering with David and Goliath Games to pilot this initiative,” says Judi Cumberland, Head of Specialist Giving at World Vision UK, “the model would allow people around the world to support a cause they believe in without giving any additional time or money.”

David and Goliath Games has set its sights high. “We want to prove that this model works and open it up as a viable business option for our future games as well as other developers in the industry,” says Richards. “If every mobile game used our business model, we could be half way to solving the world’s water crisis, forever. To me, that’s very exciting.”

The first game, Bloky Line, is an addictive rhythm-based reaction game, available on the App Store. The game is free to download and play as the funds are generated behind the scenes by the game-play advertising (as well as in-app purchases). Bloky Line has been described as “compelling, challenging, fun” for the gamer, and the more they play, the more they help to fight poverty and disadvantage.
