This year Arkell’s is celebrating 175 years in the brewing business and today they will continue their celebrations with the Arkell’s Beer Festival.

Today, Saturday 15th September at Kingsdown Brewery in Swindon the event will be taking place – with all money raised going to The Prospect Hospice and The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust charities.

Revellers can choose from over 40 different cask beers and a selection of delicious foods from pizza to bratwurst alongside live music which will be being played all day.

The event takes place from 12pm – 8pm with tickets costing £5 per person, the fee includes a specially designed Arkell’s branded glass, a beer festival programme and a 1/2 pint voucher for you to spend at the festival.

Head Brewer, Alex Arkell will be offering brewery experience tours for £5 per person giving those at the Festival a chance to go behind-the-scenes and see how Swindon’s famous, home-grown beer is created.

Tickets for the brewery tours can be purchased online only at www.arkellsbeerfestival.co.uk.

Entry tickets can also be booked online at www.arkellsbeerfestival.co.uk or can be purchased on the day of the event at the gate.

Onsite parking will be available but Arkell’s want to encourage locals to walk to the festival.

Alex Arkell, Head Brewer at Arkells Brewery said: “We last hosted the beer festival in 2013 and it was a great success, so we’re thrilled to be bringing it back after a hiatus. We wanted to make our 175 years of brewing a special celebration and what’s better than celebrating with a beer festival for the local community with all profits going to amazing causes.

It’s a very special occasion for us at Arkell’s and we’re really happy we can share this year with our valued locals and loyal customers across the South West.”
