Witness Appeal – Serious Assault in Swindon

Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Swindon in the early hours of this morning (Monday 1 May 2017).

The incident happened at around 12:20am, outside Bryon’s Wine Bar in Regent Circus.

A 19 year old man from the Swindon area suffered a broken collar bone, head injuries and wounds to his face during the attack. He remains in a stable condition in hospital.

Eight people, five men and three women all from the Swindon area, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

DS Mark Lewis from Swindon CID said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident and our enquiries are continuing. We would like anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault to come forward and speak with us.

“It was very busy in this area of town at the time of the incident and I’m sure there will have been further witnesses to the incident.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
