At approximately 3pm on 31 August, officers from the Dedicated Crime Team and the Dog Unit, attended an address in Dalton Close to execute a warrant under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act.

A large quantity of designer clothing and footwear estimated to be worth approximately £20,000 was seized as well as high value designer jewellery and watches, £6,000 cash and suspected class A drugs and mixing agent, which, if mixed, would have a street value of approximately £33,000.

A man and woman, both aged 29, have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and money laundering. They were taken to Gablecross custody and have since been released under investigation to allow for further enquiries to be carried out.

PC Matthew Barnett, of the Dedicated Crime Team, said: “This warrant was carried out following intelligence received from the community – I hope it serves as an example to the public that we will act on information we receive. We are committed to tackling drug supply and will do all that we can to seek out and locate those responsible and the public can assist us greatly in doing this.

“A huge amount of designer goods including trainers, jewellery, watches and handbags were seized during yesterday’s raids, as well as several thousand pounds of cash and class A drugs. It is suspected that these items have been purchased through the proceeds of criminality.

“This was a really successful warrant which led to two arrests, and enquiries will now continue into this incident.

“We’d continue to encourage anyone who suspects drug activity in their area to call 101.”
