Wiltshire police appealing for witnesses to a serious assault which took place in Swindon town centre this afternoon.
Officers received a 999 call just after 2.30pm today to a report of two men fighting in the area behind the bus station and near to Zurich Insurance.
The ambulance service attended the scene and a man in his 40s was taken to hospital with a chest injury.
Detective Sergeant Scott Anger said: “An extensive investigation is already underway, and we are appealing for anyone who was in the Fleming Way area of Swindon around 2pm and 2.30pmtoday to get in touch if they saw two men involved in an altercation.
“We believe this took place by the men’s toilets at the back of the bus station and near Zurich offices.
“If you witnessed the incident, please call police on 101.”
A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grevious bodily harm and has been taken to custody at Gablecross.
