Wiltshire Police are appealing for information following a robbery which took place in Swindon on New Year’s Eve.

Between 11pm and 11.30pm on 31 December, a woman aged in her 30s was walking to her car in the car park in Kembrey Street when she heard footsteps behind her.

She was then pushed to the ground and had her laptop stolen from her. The laptop is an Apple Macbook and was inside a laptop bag. Also inside the bag was a Dictaphone and a mobile phone.

The victim, who walks with the assistance of a walking frame, did not see the suspect or which direction they made off in.

PC Hannah Cox said: “The victim has been left feeling extremely scared and is worried about going outside as a result of this incident. She is registered disabled and suffers with pain on a daily basis – it is fortunate that she wasn’t injured as a result of the robbery but it has caused her an increased amount of physical pain.

“She uses the laptop for her studies and it has all of her work on it, so she is desperate to have this returned.

“Unfortunately, we do not have a description of the offender but we would ask that anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or anyone who may have seen the offender or the victim before or after the incident, to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
